Here we stand, you and I

Against the universe!

Ultimate sacrifice, for an apple?

Choking on guilt…

Eyelashes wet with a downfall of tears

Adam, the apple of my eye

Don’t abandon me!

Your arms around me is all

The heaven I will ever need.

No longer am I, afraid to fall.

Again, written at University, from creation myth and in particular John Milton’s Paradise Lost, but this time from ‘Eve’s’ perspective. Though it does not reflect my own personal religious belief.

The image of the bitten apple, or an apple crops up everywhere… from the A for Apple we learn as children, to the story of Isaac Newton’s realisation of gravity… to Apple’s very own design…
