Jessica Day George’s Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow
Norwegian Fairy tale adaptation
Review
To be honest, I read this because I have read East of the Sun, West of the Moon and fell in love with this Norwegian fairy tale.
George stays true to the fairy tale, which I was really pleased about. For those who do not know, this fairy tale is similar to Beauty and the Beast, and I give it a 10/10. I love this fairy tale, just like I do the Greek myth version of the same story. It seems to be a classic in so many cultures and that amazes me.
Lass is a relatable character, strong and persevering. I love the fact that she rescues her prince rather than being rescued. I don’t want to give anything away because this novel (and others like it) are absolutely incredible.
Big thumbs up to Jessica Day George – thank you for writing this and satisfying my Norwegian needs. It is perfect to snuggle up and drink Hot chocolate with.
